The 2020 Advancing Development Goals International Contest for
Graduate Students aims to present innovative and pragmatic solutions to
address the challenges of social inclusion.

Leave no one behind is the central and transformative promise of the
2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, and the foundation for the
implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Including
this principle ensures that the 2030 SDGs will be universally
achievable, reaching those furthest behind first.

As noted by the World Bank, “social inclusion aims to empower poor
and marginalised people to take advantage of burgeoning global
opportunities. It ensures that people have a voice in decisions, which
affect their lives, and that they enjoy equal access to markets,
services and political, social and physical spaces”.
