WANTED: TRAINEE – SUSTAINABILITY TEAM
We are currently looking for a Trainee Consultant to join our Sustainability Team. The role includes daily monitoring of various issues (legislative and non-legislative), conducting background research, drafting newsletters and policy briefings and providing overall support to more senior staff members.
We offer a six-month paid internship, with opportunities for long-term contracts afterwards. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of topics and assignments spanning across a unique client portfolio. Our team is delivering services such as monitoring, strategy development, stakeholder mappings, policy audits and issue briefings, social and traditional media relations, trainings and workshops. Essential:
- EU national or work permit holder
- Experience gained through previous internship(s) in policy areas related to sustainability (i.e. agriculture, food, transport, energy and environment). Candidates without experience in these sectors will not be considered.
- Perfect command of English; additional language skills an asset (esp. Italian, French)
- Knowledge of the EU institutions and legislative processes. Strong planning skills
- Advanced research and writing skills, including the ability to summarise issues quickly and accurately.
- Ability to work in a team, whilst at the same time carrying out own tasks independently and to agreed deadlines.
- Flexibility, enthusiasm, ability to work under tight deadlines in an international environment.
- Knowledge of current developments and trends affecting Acumen and its clients’ businesses.
- Proficient with IT and new media tools.
Desirable:
- Previous experience/traineeship in one of the European Institutions
- Good demonstrated command of social media – experience in organising social media campaigns.
- Experience in media relations – speaking and pitching to journalists, drafting press releases and/ or opinion pieces.
- Understanding of the civil society environment in Brussels.

We are currently looking for a Trainee Consultant to join our Global Health Team. The role has a strong communications-facing role, as well as daily monitoring of a range of issues in global health.
Responsibilities:
- Daily monitoring of global health and health topics, including COVID-19, Universal Health Coverage, SDGs, NCDs, NTDs, antimicrobial resistance, etc.
- Conducting background research and writing memos, event notes and issue briefs
- Drafting content for articles and newsletters
- Managing database of global health media and support with organizing press conferences
- Assisting with project management (drafting meeting minutes, updating timelines)
- Assisting with digital marketing communications content and assets creation
- Supporting social media strategy and priorities, including tracking content performance and reviewing analytics

- A previous traineeship in the global health and/ or pharmaceutical sectors. Candidates without experience in these sectors will not be considered.

- Demonstrated experience with communications and advocacy on digital media platforms is a big plus – organising social media campaigns, community engagement
- Experience with working with media and drafting opinion articles

We are looking for an Account Manager/Account Director who will work with and complement our EU Health team. You need to be proactive, solution-driven, willing to take the extra mile and eager to help us grow the business by delivering excellent service to our clients. You also need to be able to lead small teams.
The role includes managing a certain client portfolio, drafting reports and policy briefings, participating in strategy meetings, identifying research needs, providing overall support to more senior staff members and guiding junior members of the team.
Experience and knowledge:
- 4 – 5 years of relevant work experience for Account Manager position, 5+ years for Account Director role. The ideal candidate would have a combined experience of working at DG SANTE and in an agency, patient or professional group. Candidates without a track record in the healthcare area will not be considered.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ongoing health debates at EU level (IP, access, vaccines, pharmaceutical strategy, EU’s pharmaceutical legislative framework, rare diseases, etc.).
- Knowledge of the EU institutions and legislative processes.
- Social media campaigning.
- Perfect command of English; additional languages are an asset.
Skills needed:
- A client-oriented mindset, ability to lead projects and teams and deliver high quality outputs.
- Advanced writing skills and ability to quickly summarise complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to adapt writing to different audiences.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, proven through concrete previous examples and track record
