The Seoul National University Human Rights Center is pleased to announce its 6th International Winter Course ‘Human Rights and Asia 2019’ will take place from 7 to 18 January 2019 at Seoul National University (Seoul, Republic of Korea).

It is designed to allow participants to think about the universality of human rights in particular contexts of Asia and to gain a deepened understanding about human rights issues in this region. This 2-week intensive course, taught by prominent human rights experts, offers both general sessions on international human rights norms and human rights protection mechanisms, and thematic sessions on contemporary issues and case studies in Asia.

The 6th International Winter Course ‘Human Rights and Asia 2019’ will provide a unique opportunity to discuss human rights and the participants will examine economic and social rights in relation to gender, refugees, and in the context of corporate responsibility. The course is designed for postgraduate students, researchers, activists, lawyers, and international and national civil servants from all countries of the world who demonstrate a high level of interest in human rights and Asia.

The course is taught in English. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 20 and the participants will be selected in a way to ensure the diversity within participants in terms of professional and academic background, region, and field of interests.
