View a detailed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/programs\/scholarships#JJ_Scholarship_Benefits\"><strong>list of benefits<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/section>\n<div class=\"clearfix\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"redesign_static_content section\"><\/div>\n<hr aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\n<div class=\"wbl_accordian section\">\n<div id=\"lp__accordion\">\n<div class=\"lp__accordion_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lp__accordion_header\"><button class=\"lp__accordion_btn collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse97555bc562264682922142cecaa693fe1\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Who is Eligible to Apply?<\/button><\/div>\n<div id=\"collapse97555bc562264682922142cecaa693fe1\" class=\"collapse show\" data-bs-parent=\"#lp__accordion\">\n<div class=\"lp__accordion_content\">\n<div class=\"accordian-content_0 parsys\">\n<div class=\"redesign_static_content section\">\n<section>\n<article class=\"lp__body_content section \">Details on Eligibility Criteria for each call for applications are provided in that call\u2019s Application Guidelines, and these detailed eligibility criteria are strictly adhered to.\u00a0<u>No exceptions are made.<\/u>Broadly speaking, Developing Country nationals must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a national of a World Bank member developing country on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/programs\/scholarships\/brief\/countries-eligible-for-jjwbgsp-scholarship\">this list<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country;<\/li>\n<li>Be in good health;<\/li>\n<li>Hold a Bachelor\u2019s (or equivalent) degree earned at least 3 years prior to the Application Deadline date;<\/li>\n<li>Have 3 years or more of recent development-related work experience after earning a Bachelor\u2019s (or equivalent) degree;<\/li>\n<li>Be employed in development-related work in a paid full- time position at the time of submitting the scholarship application. Have at least 3 years of paid development-related employment since earning a Bachelor\u2019s degree (or equivalent university degree) and acquired within the past 6 years from the date of the Application Deadline. Please see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thedocs.worldbank.org\/en\/doc\/0f07f13d225a94a054c319c10f316a2c-0050052022\/original\/2023-FAQs-for-Developing-Country-Nationals-W1.pdf\">FAQs\u2014Window 1<\/a>\u00a0on how to count qualified part time employment toward this 3-year requirement. Please see Annex 2 of the Application Guidelines for a suggested list of development-related topics. The only exception to this criterion is for developing country nationals from a country that is on the list of Fragile and Conflict States featured in Annex 3 of the Application Guidelines. In these exceptional cases, we do take into consideration the limited employment opportunities in those countries listed in Annex 3.<\/li>\n<li>On or before the Scholarship Application Deadline date, be admitted unconditionally (except for funding) for the upcoming academic year to at least one of the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/programs\/scholarships\/brief\/jjwbgsp-participating-programs\">JJ\/WBGSP participating master\u2019s programs<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0located outside of the applicant\u2019s country of citizenship and country of residence listed at the time the call for scholarship applications opens.\u00a0The letter of admission must be uploaded before submitting your application. For details, see \u201cHow to Apply\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Not be an Executive Director, his\/her alternate, and\/or staff of any type of appointment of the World Bank Group or a close relative of the aforementioned by blood or adoption with the term &#8220;close relative&#8221; defined as: Mother, Father, Sister, Half-sister, Brother, Half-brother, Son, Daughter, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, or Nephew.<\/li>\n<li>Individuals who have previously been offered a JJWBGSP scholarship but declined it, or have previously received a JJWBGSP scholarship but did not graduate, are not eligible to apply again.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note: All eligibility criteria are strictly adhered to. Winners are notified soon after the JJWBG Steering Committee approval.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/section>\n<div class=\"clearfix\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"lp__accordion_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lp__accordion_header\"><button class=\"lp__accordion_btn collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse97555bc562264682922142cecaa693fe4\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Scholarship Benefits<\/button><\/div>\n<div id=\"collapse97555bc562264682922142cecaa693fe4\" class=\"collapse show\" data-bs-parent=\"#lp__accordion\">\n<div class=\"lp__accordion_content\">\n<div class=\"accordian-content_3 parsys\">\n<div class=\"redesign_static_content section\">\n<section>\n<article class=\"lp__body_content section \">The JJ\/WBGSP scholarship provides the recipient with the following benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Economy class air travel between your home country and the host university at the start of your study program and immediately following the end of the scholarship period. In addition to the two-way air travel, scholars will receive a US $500 travel allowance for each trip;<\/li>\n<li>Tuition for your graduate program and the cost of basic medical insurance obtained through the university.<\/li>\n<li>While on campus during the scholarship period, a monthly subsistence allowance to cover all living expenses (accommodations, food, etc., including books). The amount of the allowance varies depending on the host country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note all JJ\/WBGSP scholarships cover the duration of the graduate program or two years, whichever is less.<\/p>\n<p>The JJ\/WBGSP scholarship does not cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>VISA application(s) costs<\/li>\n<li>Expenses to bring and\/or support a scholar&#8217;s family members;<\/li>\n<li>Extra-curricular courses or training;<\/li>\n<li>Courses that do not meet the minimum credits required to earn the graduate degree;<\/li>\n<li>Language training not provided by the graduate program;<\/li>\n<li>Additional travel during the course of the study program;<\/li>\n<li>Expenses related to research, supplementary educational materials, field trips, participation in workshops\/seminars, or internships; or<\/li>\n<li>Educational equipment such as computers.<\/li>\n<li>Resident permit fee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: The JJ\/WBGSP scholarship may only supplement, and does not duplicate, any other source of financial support\/fellowship you might have.
