They will also work closely with the advocacy teams working with the EU institutions to ensure Cefic remains well connected to relevant areas of the growing EU policy agenda.<\/p>\n<p>A major content focus of this role will be to drive the external and internal communications strategy for one of Cefic\u2019s largest sector groups, Petrochemicals Europe, as it guides its member companies through the implementation of the EU Green Deal. The role will therefore provide opportunities to develop a deep understanding of key topics within the EU Green Deal including energy and climate, environmental, health and safety, chemicals, digital and wider industrial policies as well as the regulatory environment concerning implementation of chemicals legislation.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-\"><\/h2>\n<h2 id=\"h-are-you-inspired-by-these-responsibilities\">Are you inspired by these responsibilities?<\/h2>\n<p>You will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drive the internal &amp; The key product stewardship component of this initiative is the management of \u2018substances of concern\u2019 in products (coherence with chemicals policy, tracking and tracing, designing away, avoiding and replacing them where possible, transparency on chemical content, link to other sustainability initiatives, ecodesign, etc).<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will organize and steer working groups of experts composed of a large group of member companies with diverse views that require convergence and decisions, to ensure alignment and effective positioning in the political and regulatory debate on issues in the Sustainable Products scope. Interaction with regulators and liaison with downstream industries as well as with the recycling\/waste management community are also two components of this position.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Are you inspired by these responsibilities?<\/h2>\n<p>You will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drive the development and delivery of position papers and actions on the above, and advocate them; coordinate the chemical industry input in public consultations and surveys<\/li>\n<li>Create an effective working relationship with regulators and the EU institutions; represent Cefic in the discussions with regulators and external stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with other relevant industry associations and stakeholders and engage in a constructive dialogue, coordinated joint actions whenever As an active member of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA), Cefic seeks to strengthen existing cooperation with global organisations such as UNEP and the OECD to improve chemicals management worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Cefic is devoted to promoting a thriving chemical industry that is broadly recognised to provide sustainable, safe and resource efficient solutions, foster prosperity, growth and investments in Europe and Provide safe and resource efficient solutions to meet the challenges for future generations.<\/p>\n<p>The Association\u2019s mission is to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serve its members by generating and aggregating scientific knowledge that fosters the purpose of the Association in critical areas,<\/li>\n<li>Offer services and expertise to its members in regulatory, scientific and technical matters,<\/li>\n<li>Engage, advocate and represent the industry in order to create the right support and policy frameworks in Europe and beyond,<\/li>\n<li>Add value as a collective compared to individual companies\u2019 activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To reinforce the Petrochemicals Europe Industry Sector, Cefic is looking for a (M\/F\/D):<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-mission-on-the-role\" class=\"is-style-colorized-heading\">MISSION ON THE ROLE<\/h2>\n<p>Reporting to the Executive Director Petrochemicals Europe, you will manage the Sustainable Fuels Sector Group to implement the groups policy and strategic objectives. \u00a0You will coordinate the sector group activities and drive progress in developing and implementing new initiatives in Europe, Middle East and Africa.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div>\n<h2 id=\"h-are-you-inspired-by-these-responsibilities\" class=\"is-style-colorized-heading\">ARE YOU INSPIRED BY THESE RESPONSIBILITIES?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"h-you-will\">You will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expand the potential outlet and use of Sustainable Fuels across EMEA, Eastern Europe and articulate strategies and plans across growing demand regions.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure effective advocacy (contacts with regulatory or policy making bodies) and communication (publications, seminars, websites, extranet) of the industry positions.<\/li>\n<li>Establish, maintain and extend the network of relationships and alliances with various industrial players and downstream users.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor, analyse and interpret the existing and proposed policies &amp; government legislation and its impact on member company activities.<\/li>\n<li>Organise and chair meetings, draft minutes and manage budgets.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain a network of relationships, stakeholders and alliances with other relevant European stakeholders, media, NGO\u2019s and other trade associations in EU, ME and Africa.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely similar associations in Asia and the Americas to ensure a global reach of Ethers advocacy with alignment on messaging, resources required and sharing best practices.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and identify relevant (emerging) policy issues legislation on EU and member state level.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the impact of the Green Deal transition.<\/li>\n<li>Represent the industry in conferences, seminars, symposia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div>\n<h2 id=\"h-can-you-make-the-difference\" class=\"is-style-colorized-heading\">CAN YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE?<\/h2>\n<p>The successful candidate will be an experienced professional who demonstrates the following\u00a0<strong>experience, competencies, and personal qualities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A master\u2019s degree in political sciences, international relations or related disciplines and\/or in science, chemistry or related disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge and background in fuels, refineries, gasoline streams and marketing, markets and European politics and institutions.<\/li>\n<li>Fuels experience in Africa would be highly welcomed.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in an international working environment.
