Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a vacant PhD scholarship at the Department of International Economics, Government and Business (EGB).<\/p>\n

Expected starting date is October 1, 2021 (negotiable).<\/p>\n

EGB is a multidisciplinary department that conducts high-quality research in the fields of international business and political science with direct relevance to business, policy-makers and the public. Research at the department focuses on two principal focus areas (I)\u00a0Business & Government<\/em>\u00a0and (II)\u00a0International Business<\/em>\u00a0in relation to societal challenges. Faculty apply advanced quantitative and qualitative methods to generate systematic knowledge about business-government relations. We call for PhD projects in the area of International Business and\/or Business & Government. Theoretically, the PhD project must be anchored in the fields of political science and\/or international business. The PhD project can be rooted in particular geographical areas or markets, such as emerging markets, or in particular societal challenges.<\/p>\n

EGB has a vibrant PhD community, which is integrated in the daily life of the department. It is required that applicants show an interest in participating in the EGB research environment.<\/p>\n

About the PhD Programme \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The three-year PhD programme at CBS allows candidates to conduct research under the supervision of CBS faculty, supported by research training courses. The programme is highly international. Candidates are expected to participate in international research conferences and to spend time abroad as a visiting PhD student. CBS PhD graduates are held in high esteem not only in academia and research institutions but also in government and business where their research qualifications are increasingly demanded. One third of CBS PhD graduates go on to employment outside universities and public research institutions. Recent graduates from the department\u00a0have been successfully placed at Texas A&M University and Cornell University.<\/p>\n

Qualifications \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The department will give priority to applicants with excellent grades from their universities. CBS has a broad commitment to the excellence, distinctiveness and relevance of its teaching and research programmes. Candidates who wish to join us should demonstrate enthusiasm for working in an organisation of this type (highlighting, for example, relevant experience in academia, business, educational and dissemination activities).<\/p>\n

At the time of enrolment, the applicant must have completed an academically relevant master\u2019s degree according to the Bologna process (3-year bachelor\u2019s degree (180 ECTS) and 2-year master\u2019s degree (120 ECTS)) or equivalent qualifications. The minimum grade requirements are a weighted grade point average of at least 8.2 on the Danish 7-point grading scale for the entire programme (i.e. for both the bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s studies), and at least the grade 10 on the Danish 7-point grading scale for any final thesis or equivalent examination project.<\/p>\n

The applicant may apply for enrolment before the completion of a master\u2019s degree. In this case, the decision of enrolment will be conditional upon the master\u2019s degree having been successfully completed by the time of enrolment.<\/p>\n

General Information \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A PhD scholarship runs for a period of 3 years, and includes teaching obligations equivalent of \u00bd year\u2019s work (840 work hours). The scholarships are fully salaried positions, according to the national Danish collective agreement. The scholarships include tuition fees, office space and travel grants.<\/p>\n

The salary level and appointment are determined by the Ministry of Finance\u2019s collective agreement with the Central Academic Organisation.<\/p>\n
