Call for Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n

The increasing complexity of global politics speeds up social
\ntransformations around the world. The tension between rapid changes and
\nestablished beliefs and norms among citizens shakes mutual and
\ninstitutional trust. The dilemma whether supra-national entities and
\nglobal caretaker organizations or returning to national political
\nsolutions can better address these issues will be tackled by this Winter
\n School.<\/p>\n

Bridging the gap between citizens and bureaucratic institutions calls
\n for a broad, global horizon, for opportunities to discuss value images
\nin various parts of the world. This MOST School intends to offer such an
\n opportunity by contributing to a better global understanding of new and
\n emerging political and social fault lines that will likely mark
\npolitical representation patterns for years to come.<\/p>\n

The UNESCO MOST Winter School at iASK poses the question: Why are we
\nseeing the rise of post-liberal regimes? And what impact does this have
\non institutional trust at the local, national, and supranational levels?
\n Is this merely a temporary global \u2018glitch\u2019 that will deteriorate over
\ntime as new challenges emerge?<\/p>\n

With lectures and presentations by experienced academic researchers,
\nactivists and public officials with a broad, global horizon, the aim is
\nto open discussions on visions for the establishment and
\nre-establishment of trust on various levels of global, regional and
\nlower levels of governance and politics. Participants will work together
\n to produce a document with recommendations that answer the following
\nquestions:<\/p>\n
