\nWe’re teaming up with the Facebook team to create more opportunities for people in the Developer Circles community to gain hands-on experience with Open Source technologies.<\/p>\n

What are Developer Circles?
\nDeveloper Circles is a free program from Facebook that helps bring together local developers to collaborate and learn. Local groups, called Circles, host meetups and workshops covering topics like Open Source technologies, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science. There are Circles in cities around the world and they\u2019re open to anyone with an interest in coding, regardless of your experience level.<\/p>\n

Overview
\nThe Developer Circles team knows the power of hands-on experience, especially with Open Source technologies. They want to create more opportunities for people in their community to gain that experience. That\u2019s why they\u2019ll be supporting two pods to participate in the MLH Fellowship this summer.<\/p>\n

Since Developer Circles is a global program, this DevC-sponsored program does not have the same country requirements as normal MLH Fellowship applicants. Any active member of the Facebook Developer Circles community with a bank account from an established financial institution that can receive stipend payments from GitHub Sponsors or another approved payment partner are welcome to apply. When possible, we will use GitHub Sponsors as the preferred payment platform. If the fellow resides in a country where GitHub Sponsors is not available, an alternative payment platform may be used.<\/p>\n

Eligibility
\nThe full eligibility criteria are as follows:<\/p>\n

Active member of the Facebook Developer Circles community during the last three months
\nOver the age of 18
\nHave a bank account with an established financial institution that is compatible with Github Sponsors or another approved payment partner that can be used to receive stipend payments
\nCurrently enrolled in a degree or diploma granting course of study; or have graduated from one within the previous 6 months
\nEligible to work in the country you will reside in during the program
\nReside in a country not embargoed by the United States
\nAble to commit 40 hours per week to this program
\nKnow how to code in at least one language<\/p>\n
