Application form
\nThe European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) will be able to offer up to 25 travel scholarships (up to 200\u20ac), that will allow participants to arrange a visit to the partner organisation in their respective country. This scholarship can also be used to cover transportation and accommodation expenses that might be necessary for implementation of participants\u2019 projects.<\/p>\n

You can apply for a scholarship if you meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n

You are a BA\/MA\/PhD student, an NGO activist or an artist up to 35 years old from any academic\/professional field from any country of the world;
\nYou have a genuine interest in transsectoral and interdisciplinary approaches to the topics of (post-)migration;
\nYour knowledge of English is sufficient to take an active part in the discussions.

From Offline to Online to Hybrid
\nDue to the potential restrictions to international travel, this year\u2019s edition of Viadrinicum will not be possible in its usual format, when participants from various countries are invited to Frankfurt (Oder) and S\u0142ubice for two weeks at the end of summer. Instead it will take place in a hybrid format, featuring a mixture of online and offline activities.<\/p>\n

Most of the programme elements will be offered online, including seminars, workshops, public discussions, case study and open space sessions, as well as visits to an art institution in Berlin and to the Center of East European and International Studies (ZOiS) (www.zois-berlin.de), which is our partner institution this year.<\/p>\n

Lab.Workshops and Local Partners
\nThe only part of the programme that will take place offline (conditioned the epidemiological situation permits) consists of the three parallel Lab.Workshops (Art.Lab, Doc.Lab and Research.Lab), during which the participants of the school will develop their own small (team) projects. These projects will be developed and carried out in the countries of participants\u2019 residence, so that the necessity for international travel is avoided.<\/p>\n

Every workshop will be supervised by a workshop leader distantly. However, in the countries of the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), Russia, Poland and Germany participants\u2019 activities will also be coordinated with the help of local partner organizations, which will be gradually announced before the start of the school.<\/p>\n

Travel Scholarships
\nThe European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) will be able to offer up to 25 travel scholarships (up to 200\u20ac), that will allow participants to arrange a visit to the partner organisation in their respective country, in case necessary. This way collaboration between the participants from one country can be made possible also offline.<\/p>\n

The scholarship can also be used to cover transportation and accommodation expenses that might be necessary for implementation of the participants\u2019 projects \u2013 for instance, in case a field work in a city different from the city of residence is required.<\/p>\n

Technical Equipment
\nTo make your participation in the summer school Viadrinicum 2020 possible and productive, you would need the following technical equipment:<\/p>\n

Computer\/laptop
\nStable internet connection
\nMicrophone and camera (inbuilt in the laptop)
\nAs we will be using software for video-conferencing and interactive group work, these elements will be crucial for an active involvement in the discussions and exchange that will happen during the school.<\/p>\n

Viadrinicum 2020 on (Post-)Migration
\nProgramme<\/p>\n

Viadrinicum is an annual summer school devoted to the countries of the Eastern Partnership, and the larger context of Central and Eastern Europe. This year\u2018s edition is designed as a digital transsectoral lab on (post-)migration, aiming to tackle the notion of (post-)migrant society from multiple theoretical and methodological angles. With the help of online academic seminars the school will allow its participants to deepen theoretical insights into the topics of (post-)migration, convivial diversity and multilocal belonging.
\nBesides that, the participants will be able to enhance their practical and methodological skills in the framework of several project-oriented workshops, organised in the respective countries of their residence with the help of local partners.<\/p>\n

\nDr. Anne Holper (Frankfurt\/Oder), Conflict Mediation in the Context of Diversity
\nPeggy Piesche (Berlin), Doing Diversity
\nCase studies of migration-related civic and cultural initiatives from Kyiv, Wroc\u0142aw, Chi\u0219in\u0103u, Moscow, Berlin
\nBesides the academic part, participants of the school will also be able to develop their own small (team) projects in the framework of three workshops (Art.Lab, Doc.Lab, Research.Lab) under the close guidance of experienced supervisors.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, there will be an online film screenings, public discussions, and Open Space sessions where participants will have a chance to discuss their own scientific or cultural projects with peers and scholars.<\/p>\n
