Org. Setting and Reporting<\/span><\/p>\n

This position is located in the Administrative Solutions Development Team (ASDT) team, Information Technology Service (ITS), Division for Management (DM), United Nations Office at Vienna \/United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNOV\/UNODC), in Vienna, Austria. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of Team Leader, Administrative Solutions Development Team (ASDT) and the overall guidance of the Chief, ITS.

Responsibilities<\/span><\/p>\n

The Information Systems Assistant will perform the following specific duties:

\u2022Define customer requirements;
\u2022Develop SharePoint, PowerApps and O365 based applications (mainly workflow) using rapid application development approaches and working very closely with the customer;
\u2022Provide maintenance for existing applications and legacy applications;
\u2022Write technical documentation;
\u2022Provide hands-on demonstrations\/training for end users;
\u2022Cooperate with all members of the various ITS teams in UNOV\/UNODC;
\u2022Take responsibility for the full cycle of projects from design to rollout;
\u2022Perform other work-related duties as required.<\/span><\/p>\n

Completed secondary education; relevant additional post-secondary education is an asset.<\/span><\/p>\n

Work Experience<\/span><\/p>\n

A minimum of seven years of extensive working experience on Software development is required.
Experience in writing web applications in SharePoint in O365 including Javascript HTML and Database Query Language is required.
Solid knowledge of\/experience with SQL Databases is required
Experience in PowerApps, PowerAutomate, PowerBI and Azure, as well as PowerBuilder, Sybase and IBM Domino\/Notes is desirable.
Knowledge of and experience in configuration and administration of Domino servers is desirable.
Experience with, and certification in CCURE 9000 Security system is desirable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Languages<\/span><\/p>\n

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Assessment<\/span><\/p>\n

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include a technical test and a competency-based interview.<\/span><\/p>\n

Special Notice<\/span><\/p>\n

This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of each office, irrespective of their nationality and of the length of time they may have been in the country. Non-local candidates will be considered only when no suitable candidate from the duty station is identified and will be subject to local recruitment. Other Skills and Requirements<\/span><\/p>\n

Passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Services and related categories in the United Nations Secretariat. Applicants who have not passed the GGST at the time of application may be invited for the test after submitting an application.

The GGST is a proctored entry-level examination at the duty station. Any travel expenses incurred in order to take the examination are the responsibility of the candidate and will not be reimbursed by the Organization.

Having passed the Administrative Support Assessment Test [in English] at the United Nations headquarters, Economic Commission for Africa, Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, United Nations Office at Geneva, United Nations Office at Vienna, International criminal tribunal for Rwanda or International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia may be accepted in lieu of the GGST<\/span><\/p>\n

United Nations Considerations<\/span><\/p>\n

According to article 101, paragraph 3, of the Charter of the United Nations, the paramount consideration in the employment of the staff is the necessity of securing the highest standards of efficiency, competence, and integrity.
