We invite applications from interested writers to join our IWW 2019 Residency Programme from 17 February to 17 March 2019. This year\u2019s programme culminates in the IWW Literary Festival: \u201cThe Many Worlds of Science Fiction.\u201d Applicants are welcome to address how their work connects to our theme, but they are not required to do so.<\/div>\n<div><strong>What IWW Provides:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Roundtrip economy class airfare;<\/li>\n<li>Accommodation on HKBU\u2019s campus for 4 weeks;<\/li>\n<li>A per diem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Writers must have at least one published book;<\/li>\n<li>Currently reside outside of Hong Kong;<\/li>\n<li>Have a functional command of English or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Residency Programme Requirements:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Writers must attend the entire residency from 17 February to 17 March 2019;<\/li>\n<li>Attend the Welcome Ceremony during the first week;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the Literary Festival from 11-17 March 2019. (Writers are encouraged to share a piece of writing in conversation with the Literary Festival\u2019s theme.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Application Requirements:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>A 1-page, single-spaced Artist\u2019s Statement in English or Chinese describing your work and your writing goals for the residency programme. If the statement is written in Chinese, please provide a 1-paragraph summary in English;<\/li>\n<li>12-15 pages of recent work, such as drama, digital writing, fiction, a libretto, nonfiction, or poetry. Please provide an English or Chinese translation of your work, if you do not write in English or Chinese;<\/li>\n<li>A CV or resume; \uf06c Contact information, including e-mail addresses, for two references;<\/li>\n<li>All materials should be in 12-point type with 1-inch margins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Please send your application materials as a single PDF to\u00a0<span><a href=\"mailto:iww@hkbu.edu.hk\">iww@hkbu.edu.hk<\/a><\/span>\u00a0by 31 August 2018. Applicants will be notified of the results by mid-October 2018.<\/div>\n<div>A publicly-funded university that prioritizes Creative Media and Practice, HKBU is the only university in Hong Kong with all of the following research and teaching areas: Creative Writing, Film and Screen Studies, Literary Studies, Music, Translation Theory and Practice, and Visual Arts.
