Description<\/h3>\n

Bogliasco Fellowships are awarded, without regard to nationality, to qualified persons doing advanced creative work or scholarly<\/strong>\u00a0research in the following disciplines: Archaeology, Architecture, Classics, Dance, Film\/Video, History, Landscape Architecture,<\/strong>\u00a0Literature, Music, Philosophy, Theater, and Visual Arts.<\/strong>\u00a0Applicants for Fellowships are expected to demonstrate significant achievement in their disciplines, commensurate with their age and experience. An approved project is presumed to lead to the completion of an artistic, literary, or scholarly work, followed by publication, performance, exhibition, or other public presentation.<\/p>\n

Approximately 50 Bogliasco Fellowships are awarded each year.\u00a0<\/strong>They are scheduled during the two semesters of the traditional academic year: from mid-September to the third week of December in fall-winter, and from mid-February to the third week of May in winter-spring.\u00a0Fellowships usually last one month.<\/strong>\u00a0Bogliasco Fellows may be accompanied by spouses or spouse equivalent companions during their stay. Providing the crucial gifts of space, time, and freedom from the distractions of daily life, Bogliasco Fellowships also encourage international exchange and understanding among Fellows in a stimulating multicultural environment.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/h3>\n

Located on the Italian Riviera in the small town of Bogliasco near Genoa, the\u00a0Bogliasco Foundation\u2019s Study Center\u00a0offers residential fellowships for\u00a0artists and scholars of all nations who have made significant contributions to the arts and humanities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Please note that Bogliasco Fellowships are\u00a0not awarded to students currently in a degree-granting program<\/strong>. The Foundation gives preference to persons whose applications suggest that they would be comfortable working in an intimate, international, multi-lingual community of scholars and artists.<\/p>\n

Fellowship<\/h3>\n

During their stay at the Study Center, Bogliasco Fellows and accompanying spouses\/companions are provided with living quarters (bedroom with private bath) and full board.<\/strong>\u00a0Fellows are assigned separate private studios. The cost of transportation to and from the Study Center is the responsibility of the Fellows, as are all other personal expenses incurred during the Fellowship period. Children cannot be accommodated at the Study Center. Pets are not allowed. Visits by friends, colleagues, or family members are not allowed, except by prior arrangement.<\/p>\n
