ADA University is pleased to announce a Call for Course Participation in the framework of its project on “ Strengthening Research Capacities in Azerbaijan”. These semester –long, inquiry-based courses, aiming at enhancing research potential of the country are intended for graduate and postgraduate students, independent researchers, young faculty members from various higher education institutions and think-tank organizations, particularly in the field of social sciences and humanities across a wide spectrum of disciplines (political science, sociology, philosophy, history, education, law, economics, gender studies, public policy, anthropology etc.)
Funded by the US Embassy in Azerbaijan, the overall objective of the above-mentioned project is to contribute to the country’s agenda on reforming academic inquiry field, by developing local scientific community and increasing the visibility of researchers in Azerbaijan.
The project will introduce a wide range of semester-long research -oriented courses and short-term training programs on “ Social Research Methods” and “Academic Writing” necessary to support and encourage project beneficiaries to produce high-impact academic papers in the field of social sciences to be publicized at international, regional and national workshops and conferences, as well as policy papers to provide decision-makers with an overview of an issue or problem, targeted analysis, and actionable recommendations.
Additionally, the project will endeavor to link the high-performing course participants with their peers from American Universities to jointly work on research study and/ or policy-related paper to further publish it or present at the conferences. Moreover, depending on a field of study, ADA University professorship from social sciences sector will continue to mentor selected project participants as emerging researchers in supporting their further academic pursuits.
The project will allocate a small research grant to encourage participants to fulfill their research studies.
ADA University will offer semester-long courses on Social Research Methods with the focus on qualitative and quantitative/statistical analysis (40 hours) and Academic Writing (40 hours). The courses will be delivered in English. The duration of each course is 4 months. Leading professors of ADA University will deliver these courses.
